Fatal Promises Trailer to play at the fifth annual Clinton Global Initiative

Fatal Promises will play at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) today.

President Bill Clinton has selected Kat Rohrer’s landmark documentary on human trafficking to screen in front of the world’s top private sector and NGO leaders.

Over 100 top thinkers will watch excerpts from the controversial film, which includes in-depth interviews with both male and female Ukrainian survivors of trafficking.

CGI attendees including actor and activist Demi Moore, Oxfam America’s Raymond Offenheiser and Women for Women International’s Zainab Salbi have amassed in New York this week to tackle global problems, with ‘girls and women’ under particular scrutiny.

Rohrer’s film will play as part of Wednesday’s special focus on trafficking at WHAT’S THE LOCATION?

Fatal Promises is playing at Cinema Village until 24th September.

Tonight’s 7pm screening will be hosted by History Starts Now, followed by a Q and A with the film-makers, Pamela Chen (USDOJ) and Mary Temple (Free the Slaves).

On Thursday, the film closes its New York run with a screening hosted by CATW. Panellists include Norma Ramos (CATW) and author Jammie Briggs.
